Try not to let anxiety ruin your Christmas holidays

Try not to let anxiety ruin your Christmas holidays

Feeling overwhelmed yet? I am! I spoke to someone the other day who had all her shopping done AND WRAPPED… Like what? How? Can I take what you’re taking? 🙃😅

It's hard when you feel overwhelmed and you feel like you have to do everything.

Like buy everyone amazing presents and cook the best food and be the best host and be the best mam and be the best partner and wrap all the presents and make sure you're on time for all the gatherings and make sure you look ok to attend things and blah blah blah.... etc etc list goes on… my head could explode!

But really, you just need to be the best for you. Concentrate on you and your little one(s), remember you should enjoy the holidays too.

Enjoying the little moments with your family and friends can be hard when the pressure is on. So, maybe try to delegate some tasks to your partner or someone close to you - take some of that pressure off.

Try not to let worry, fear or high expectations get in the way. I’ll say it - life is too short for that! Take it back to basics and remember these holidays are about coming together with your loved ones.

If you don't want to spend much time with someone, then don't. Boundaries are important for you to protect your peace and lower anxiety. I know the pressure of having to see everyone in the family - but to what expense, your own happiness? Nah, let's not do that to ourselves anymore. Let's break that cycle now - make new traditions and enjoy yourself!

Enjoy your holidays mama - you deserve it 🧡

PS. Don’t forget to buy yourself something nice for over the holidays, even if it’s your favourite chocolate bar, or that handbag you’ve had your eye on. I promise that will make you smile 🥰🧡
